Kieron Winn has given readings of his work at the Poetry Café and the Troubadour Club in London, at Boston University and Williams College in the USA, at various Oxford colleges, in schools, and on BBC TV and radio.
Teaching and workshops
He is an experienced teacher of undergraduates, schoolchildren, and adults in continuing education, and specializes in two areas.
These courses range from multi-genre introductions to intensive examination of styles and forms in poetry. He has taught through seminars, workshops, and tutorials. He is particularly interested in demonstrating how game elements such as rhyme and alliteration can generate sense.
English poetry from the Romantics to the present
His doctorate was on Herbert Read and T.S. Eliot, and his academic publications also centre on these writers.
From 2009-2013 he was the judge of a schools’ poetry competition in Kent.
